Lindows is back baby!!! With a huge twist.

After recent airport crashes caused by the Microsoft Partners at crowdstrike it has become clear that we can no longer rely on Microsoft Windows for anything. This is why Freebook Technologies re-launched the defunct company Lindows.

Lindows History

There once was a time when desktop adoption was seen as the most important goal for Linux. Since then, Linux has come to dominate the market of supercomputers, web servers, mobile devices, network devices, and IoT, but most desktop computers are still running Windows. While there are millions of Linux desktops, it's still a minority. Sure, Linux has succeeded, but not in a way people in the early 2000's had anticipated.

A certain category of people thought the best way to gain desktop adoption was to mimic Microsoft Windows as much as possible. Sometimes it took benign forms, such as making Windows-like themes for window managers, but some took it to the extreme. Like us.

Let's compare Lindows 4.0 to 5.0. Remember there is a 21 Year gap between Lindows 4.0 and 5.0. This is because Lindows developer Michael Robertson had seized all development in 2003 to make Linspire which ended in 2006. Linspire was not any better by comparison.

In 2024 Freebook Technologies revived the OS as Lindows.

Lindows 5.0 Latest looks almost identical to Windows 10. We purchased the now defunct Linux OS Windows FX from the Linux FX team who now calls their software Winbuntu. They completely abandoned the LinuxFX name. As the new source code owners we are releasing the software free of charge.

As you can see. Lindows has gone through a very massive change.

5.0 Latest

Now the sole reason for this software is because Microsoft has a ton of issues. The airport blackout is just the latest. Windows updates have killed many computers including the airport crash in July of 2024.  Yes Crowdstrike and Microsoft are operating together on this.

The devastating IT issue caused by a faulty update pushed to Windows PCs by cyber security company CrowdStrike is continuing to wreak havoc days later. The problem first came to global attention early Friday morning, knocking companies and banks offline and grounding planes at various airports.

So ditch the Microsoft Virus and live free under Lindows OS. The only 100% Free Linux clone of Windows 10.
